Tip 410: Vista Sidebar's Outlook Gadgets
Following up last Friday's tip - the link wrapped and broke in the email version. This is a common problem with long URLs and plain text formatting unfortunately. While HTML format would solve it, 95% of the tips don't require HTML formatting, so I'm going to stick with plain text.
However, when a link is broken, you can either put it back together - I hit reply or forward, then backspace from the second line to remove white spaces and line breaks Outlook adds - or visit the Outlook Tips website or RSS feed archive to read the tip.

I try to update the RSS feed soon after publishing a tip but I'm often a little slow at updating the website.
Now on to today's tip...
If you use Outlook on Vista, there are sidebar gadgets you can install to see Outlook data at a glance.

They all work ok, although the mini-Inbox brings up the dreaded security dialog each time you access email using it.
